Indiana’s premier treatment center renovating former Saint Joseph Hospital building in Mishawaka.
We are excited to announce the opening of a new facility in Mishawaka, Indiana. We are a private and voluntary substance use disorder and mental health treatment facility. We plan to open near downtown Mishawaka in the former Saint Joseph Hospital facility. We purchased the building at 215 W. 4th Street in late 2019.
We will provide inpatient, outpatient, and dual diagnosis treatment for substance use disorder and mental health illnesses. Including addiction recovery, emotional trauma, and conditions such as abuse and PTSD. We are dedicated to providing the best treatment available for men and women over the age of 18. We are the only facility in Indiana to offer full care from detox to outpatient services.
We treat every patient as if they were a family member. We’re bringing a higher quality of individualized care to Michiana, which is an underserved area. Our focus is on patient progress, and we have a significantly lower provider-to-patient ratio than the law allows. Our average caseload per Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is 10-15 cases, vs. 30-40 cases per LCSW at many other facilities.
We are extensively renovating the hospital with a local firm, Panzica Building Corporation, as the general contractor. Panzica estimates more than 100 new jobs associated with the project.
We are anticipating opening this spring and will seek to fill 100 new healthcare positions. The initial residential capacity will be 35 patients. Outpatient services will be based on demand, with an active census of approximately 60 patients.
Mishawaka Mayor, Dave Wood, shared his excitement about the renovations saying, “At 182,000 square feet, this is one of Mishawaka’s largest buildings. We’re thrilled about its reuse, along with the community and economic benefits that the Indiana Center for Recovery will bring to Mishawaka and the wider area.”
We plan to accept all insurance and are contracted with Tricare for active military personnel.
